This week’s artifact is a milk crate from Avondale Dairy Ltd. dating to around 1940. Avondale started in 1931 as a family run dairy farm and milk delivery service based just outside of St. Catharines. The company later expanded into retail stores and an ice cream shop, maintaining a large presence across Niagara today.
