Welcome to Hydrating Through History, where we are looking back at some refreshing historic recipes the people of St. Catharines used to beat the heat!
This week, we are looking at a recipe called Grape Moo from the Niagara Grape & Wine Festival Specialty Cookbook from 1981.

The Niagara Grape and Wine Festival is an iconic event that takes place annually at Montebello Park in St. Catharines. It began in 1952 to celebrate and promote Niagara’s grape and wine industries.

The festival began as a modest celebration, but has evolved through the years, adopting its own unique traditions and expanded to include people from all over the Niagara Region as well as tourists from all over the world. This cookbook was published in 1981. By this point, the Niagara Grape and Wine Festival was well established as a St. Catharines tradition. As the festival continued to grow and attract more visitors, this book was made for those who wanted more knowledge on ways to enjoy grapes and wine.
