This week’s artifact is an 1894 English style concertina owned and played by Joseph Clunie who carried the instrument with him throughout the First World War. Clunie was a Scottish immigrant who enlisted with the 134th Battalion for the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force after arriving in Canada.
