This week’s artifact is an electric fan from the James William Johnston Jeweler, located in downtown St. Catharines. This fan was used between 1915 and 1939.

Oh my lord, spinning metal blades and gaps in the wire easily wide enough to insert your fingers. What could possibly go wrong? Thank heavens for modern product safety laws. But it’s a cool artifact. Just don’t plug it in.
